ABOUT THE BOOK

Perdle, the rare living pickle chip, craves one thing. a friend.

Poopise, a rare porcupine who cannot climb trees, also craves one thing, to be able to climb trees.

Thank goodness they both have books.

Perdle and Poopsie find each other tells the charmingly punny story of a pickle chip and a porcupine who, while looking for something else, find what they needed most.

Each other.

Author Steven Stack has been writing for young audiences for a good while now. He began his writing journey in second grade when he crafted the outstandingly complex story “Dumb Pilot,” featuring a pilot of questionable intelligence. The story riveted his second-grade classmates, including Lisa, with whom he later performed a puppet show. He illustrated “Dumb Pilot” himself, and in certain lighting, the illustrations even resemble a plane and a pilot.

Many years later, after writing more stories and dipping his toes into poetry (the heartwarming “DOG” was featured not only in his high school literary magazine but also in his college one), Steven moved on to writing plays. He has published more than thirty plays that have been performed in 45 states and eight countries. His book catalog includes Jack: The Story of a Dog and the award-winning Behind the Curtain: The Tooth Fairy, along with the YA novel The Bottom of the Lake.

When he’s not writing, Steven is a teacher who wears many hats, but the thing he loves most is living life with his family in the troll capital of the world: Mount Horeb, Wisconsin.
