Author Gemely Lubin is an educator and writer from the Turks and Caicos Islands. An experienced teacher and teacher-trainer, she has dedicated her career to education, including her work with the Faculty of Education and Training at the Turks and Caicos Islands Community College, where she helps shape the next generation of teachers. Gemely holds a Master of Arts in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum & Instruction, and she is deeply passionate about preserving and sharing local history through engaging, child-friendly narratives.

In Salty’s Grand Adventures: A Donkey’s Tale from Grand Turk, Gemely draws on her love for her homeland and her desire to create culturally relevant stories for Caribbean children and visitors alike. Her work reflects her commitment to showcasing the beauty, resilience, and legacy of island life while preserving the history that shaped the Turks and Caicos Islands’ economic development.

Illustrator Eva Morales is a professional 2D Spanish artist and illustrator living near the Mediterranean Sea. Aside from children’s publishing, she has worked in TV, film production, and advertising for over 14 years. Now she works as a full-time freelance illustrator, using a combination of digital and traditional techniques that makes her a very versatile artist. A very creative and imaginative person, professional and fast, with a great ability to solve problems and make decisions. Eva loves walking on the beach and reading books in her spare time.
