Margaret’s daughter Julia is a renowned psychologist hiding more than one addiction. Determined to host the perfect dinner that night, she makes decent strides, until her youngest daughter has an alarming premonition about Artie, and the oldest daughter runs away.

Meanwhile, Margaret’s grandchild Kelly is planning to reveal something important to her mother Sydnie before the party. But when Sydnie unwittingly foils the plan due to a secret of her own, they find themselves in each other’s confidence.

Later, with the party in full swing, a shocking tragedy sends everyone to the hospital. It is there, over the course of several hours, where the family transforms, changing in ways they never thought possible.

Where the White Light Bends takes place in early post-COVID—a shifting and unsettled “time in between.” It explores the relationships of mothers and daughters, the tribulations of grief, and the splendor of knowing oneself—as we bear witness to a family discovering what it means to live their truth.
