The Wrong Shadow
By Bill Gillard
ABOUT THE BOOK
A doomed marriage that transcends death itself…
An old man-a college professor-grading one final work: his own life…
A storm rises on Lake Winnebago where a boy confronts the horrible truth…
One night in a lumber mill with all that remained of the Peshtigo Fire…
A difficult pregnancy-a father imagines the worst…
A man returns from war to find his home burned to the ground and his family-gone…
These and many others make up this collection: twenty-six ghost stories set in the Fox River Valley of northeast Wisconsin. Chills drawn from history and legend mix with new frights from the mind of Bill Gillard, the author of If the River Dies, If a Clod Be Washed, Crawl Cram Grind Fail, and many others.
Author Bill Gillard writes poetry and prose in all shapes and sizes. He likes to read all kind of stuff, especially science fiction and horror from the pulp magazine era. He lives in northeast Wisconsin, tramps around ruined buildings and graveyards in his spare time, and teaches at UW Oshkosh.
