Author Mary Thompson grew up on Maple Shade Farm inMount Horeb, Wisconsin, a place rich with stories,hard work, and fi ve generations of family memories. A graduate of Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, Mary’s love of adventure took flight during a year abroad in France.

She has enjoyed a diverse career in education as both a classroom teacher and a Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction program manager, as well as an HR executive in financial services. Now, she is turning her passion for storytelling into children’s books inspired by her own life and beloved pup.

Mary lives in Madison, Wisconsin, with her husband, Larry Jenkins, and, of course, Coco Mia, a spirited dog who turns everyday life into one big adventure. She is an active member of the Rotary Club of Madison, whose mission is to Connect. Grow. Serve. Thanks to those Rotary connections, she discovered the talented team behind Adventures of Coco Mia—LOST, her illustrator, digital marketing specialist, and publicist, proving that real-life friendships and community support are at the heart of every great adventure.
