NatureVerse: A Collection of Poetry Celebrating the Variety of Life on Earth
Written by Ruth Bures
ABOUT THE BOOK
What do I see?
There’s a moose on the loose!
Crashing through forests of
aspen and spruce.
Look over there!
A huge moose on the loose!
Each living thing in our world has an extraordinary purpose and design. These NatureVerse poems were created with realism, rhythm and rhyme to celebrate this uniqueness. The poems are memorable and encourage respect, curiosity and caring for our natural world.
Author Ruth Anfinson Bures graduated from Drake University (BME) and St. Mary’s University of Minnesota, (ME, EdD). She taught elementary through high school music and music classes at Winona State and St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. A lifelong poet and songwriter, she composed words and music for hundreds of children’s songs and musicals. She is the author of I’m so Glad There’s Someone, a children’s book about emotions, and Musical Chairs, A True Story of Love, Music and Furniture, a work of biographical fiction featuring the true story of four exceptionally talented musicians who launch a “classy” vaudeville act in the early 1900s. When that didn’t work out, they moved to a southeastern Minnesota town where they purchased and ran a furniture store, and continued to pursue their passion for music in ways that had an important local impact.
