Marvin and the Painted Chair

Written by Jean Huxtable-Hamersky

Illustrated by Laura Sprtel

ABOUT THE BOOK

When Marvin finds a long-forgotten chair in Grandma’s basement, he decides they need to paint it. Each color of paint he uses reminds him of special days spent outdoors with Grandma. See how their memories of time together in nature brings happiness to them both.

Author Jean Huxtable-Hamersky is an avid reader and author of several picture books, including Parker’s Pumpkins, Marlee’s Masterpiece, and Marvin and the Painted Chair, all inspired by her grandchildren. In addition to reading, Jean believes there is nothing better for the body and spirit than being in nature and experiencing the outdoors, whether it is in the backyard catching bugs, camping, or traveling across the country. She strives to instill curiosity, wonder, and awe about the beauty and diversity in our world through her books. Jean and her husband have three adult children and four beautiful grandchildren who count on a book for their birthdays and other special events.
